Ecological Building Systems, drawing from 25 years of experience promoting green building materials, has developed Passive EcoWall, a system which integrates low embodied carbon and natural materials to deliver passive house performance levels.
Embodied carbon from the construction and refurbishment of buildings accounts for around 14 per cent of built environment emissions according to the Green Building Council.
Passive EcoWall follows passive house principles and includes elements like Woodfibre natural insulation, airtight racking boards, and windtight membranes, also featuring alternative natural insulation options such as breathable flex hemp and jute, and grass fibre.
Eco products are part of the continuing growth employed in energy efficient construction methods which prioritise low carbon materials to minimise the impact of the built environment. Passive EcoWall offers timber construction a way to improve thermal continuity and airtightness. Utilising natural materials in construction ensures the industry can effectively address operational carbon emissions, playing a pivotal role in the UK’s sustainable building future.
